Jazz Rocks is a photographic homage to jazz musicians and concerts. Improvisation in jazz is unpredictable, creating ever-changing moods and emotions. All great jazz photographers are, by their very nature, a part of that visual performance. There is an implicit spiritual connection with the musicians. Rashid Lombard gets drawn into the performance, forgetting his ego, dancing visually to the drama that unfolds as the music is explored. As viewers of these images, we are able to relive the events, experiencing the vibrancy and colour of the original jazz performances.
